If you know me, you know I am a former English teacher. I became a librarian and have taught in elementary, middle school/junior high, and high school settings. I started writing picture books when I became an elementary librarian. When I had a creative writing lesson with my second and third graders, I was amazed at some of the wonderful stories some of my students created. Once upon a snowy stroll, Jerome and Ekko felt the inspiration to collect words... with a notebook in hand he would gather words around his town. Yet, the seasonal words did not warm his heart. How would he give hope, or joy, or even Holiday cheer?

Ever since I was a young girl, I wanted to become a writer. I was known to write overwrought poems as a child. At about age 8, I experienced my first rejection: for a poem I submitted to a girls magazine. I wrote it in pencil on a piece of cardboard and sent in a big envelope to New York City. I’m not even sure I got a rejection card, but it never appeared in print! Since that humble beginning, I’ve continued to be an avid reader and writer and persisted in my dream to become a published author. A former magazine editor, writing and journalism professor and author of many articles and books, I live in Minnesota with my husband Jim and our miniature goldendoodle, Lloyd. Meet Razzi a spirited young pre-teen whose favorite possession is an orange "feel-like-your-being-hug" bean bag chair. Since the time of the rationings, she lived with her family and others in the Refuge. Outside was unknown and off limits. Her "dreamscapes," rarely occurred during a time by herself. She was known for being "off" into her imagined destinations. The Queendom of Pixie Hollow where in its heart you will find the Pixie Dust tree. To the east is Spring Valley, to the south is Summer Glade, to the west is Autumn Forest, and to the north is Winter Woods.
Perched on the branch of an oak tree where sunlight and pixie dust sparkled, Clarion is daydreaming. She isn't the Queen of Pixie Hollow yet; there's still one more month before coronation. She understands that she is in training, yet even a small bee falling mid-flight creates a deep stirring within her to come to its aide. As Queen that will never be allowed. How can that be? She must get back, for Elvina will surely discover that she is not in her room, which would be unacceptable since she is the current Queen.
Luckily, she left her balcony doors unlocked so no one should see her climbing back into her room.

He was on his way to request an audience with the Queen of Pixie Hollow. He was on a mission of extreme importance, so for him "surprise" in meeting Clarion wasn't a problem for he already knew who she was and soon would be. He arranged for them to meet at sunset. He accurately gathered that Clarion would return.
Their first meeting will be the only way to save Pixie Hollow. Will Clarion live through this fight with the released monster? Will she find a way to awakened those who have been stricken? Will Queen Elvina include her in this fight, or will she insist that her coronation is more important? Will Milori help her bridge the long-standing banishment between Pixie Hollow and the Winter Woods?
A delightful fairy tale, twists and turns with every chapter. Characters so well crafted, you feel as if they have been crafting a Disney movie within your mind rather than just entertaining you with words. This is the best fairy princess/queen ever portrayed.
